Discover® Global Network and PEX Ltd. Expand Merchant Acceptance

Discover® Global Network and PEX Ltd., a key payments processor based in Mauritius, have signed an agreement that will help extend merchant acceptance across Sub-Saharan Africa. The agreement makes it possible for Discover Global Network to collaborate with additional acquiring banks in the region, to increase acceptance of Discover, Diners Club International®, PULSE® and Network Alliance partner cards at POS, ATMs and via the e-commerce payment pages.

“Thanks to our agreement with PEX Ltd., we are actively working to boost the acceptance of all the cards that run on the Discover Global Network,” said Matt Sloan, Vice President, International Markets at Discover. “Our cardholders are both leisure and business travellers and we look forward to providing them with more opportunities to use their card across various countries in Africa.”

Discover Global Network, the payments brand of Discover Financial Services, includes: Discover, Diners Club International and PULSE and more than 20 alliance partner networks in countries such as: Brazil, South Korea, Nigeria, India and Turkey. The Discover Global Network counts 270+ million cardholders. It is present in over 200 countries and territories with 50+ million merchant locations and over 2 million ATM locations.
